Wicked Tuna
Like many of the other forms of art (paintings, photographs, drawings) the television series, "Wicked Tuna", also shows the fishing aspects of Gloucester. The series follows a few groups of men and women on their adventures at sea while they fish for bluefin tuna. The Gloucester fishermen become ideals in the audiences minds of what fishermen from the city must be like. Many viewers have an opinion about fishing and fishermen only through the show, which the stars have admitted does not accurately portray all aspects of fishing life. Therefore, the television series enables mislead opinions to form about Gloucester's fishing industry. Some viewers may also only know about Gloucester through the show, in which case their only view of it is as a fishing town. The series simply shows the bluefin tuna fishermen and not the culture or other many components of the city. With this in mind, one can understand that Gloucester is strictly a fishemen's placein the eyes of the "Wicked Tuna" viewers.

The Perfect Storm
Likely the most widespread and famous tale involving Gloucester, "The Perfect Storm", captures both the glory of the city's fishermen and the tragedies that must be faced. Upon review of the story, many responses sprung about. Some felt as though they truly understood the culture of Gloucester and the impact fishermen have on the city. Others began to characterize all of Gloucester's fishermen as "kids with the courage of madmen," (Scott). They see the men as those who go out and get a haul, make fast money, and drink their way through it before the next run. They see Gloucester as a city of fishermen, and the fishermen as drunks. The tragic tale touches the audiences hearts, but Gloucester does not because it is depicted in a misleading way.
